When you use this website
- Your browser sends the selected document to the server running this website.
- The server writes a temporary copy and inspects it in a separate, bounded process.
- The server returns a report to your browser and removes its temporary upload and result files when the request finishes, including handled errors and processing-limit failures.
The application has no document library or saved report history. It does not send documents to an LLM, OCR service, or parser provider. Your original file on your device is unchanged.
What is in the report?
Reports contain the filename, document/page/slide/sheet metrics, issue types, coordinates, and other measured evidence. They do not include extracted document text, annotation bodies, form values, link destinations, or embedded-file contents. A JSON download is saved only when you request it in your browser.
Limits and temporary request records
The checker accepts files up to 20 MiB and 200 PDF pages, slides, or sheets, with a 25-second analysis deadline. It limits simultaneous requests and uses short-lived, in-memory request counters. The hosted beta permits 30 attempts per minute across the service and one active inspection at a time. These counters contain no document content and reset when the service restarts.
The application has no account system or advertising features. Optional Google Analytics is loaded only after you allow analytics. If you decline, the checker still works. When enabled, analytics records page visits and basic checker events (file format, completion, failure, and report download), never filenames, document contents, extracted text, or report details. Google receives connection information such as your IP address as part of analytics requests. Analytics may set first-party cookies. Your preference is stored in your browser; use Analytics preferences to change it. Withdrawing consent reloads the page to stop the tag and clears this site’s Analytics cookies where accessible. The hosting server or reverse proxy can produce access logs containing connection information. CheckDocs is operated by Anant Bhatt. For privacy questions, contact anantbhattt@gmail.com. The website uses Google Firebase Hosting, which distributes public pages through a global network. Documents are processed by Google Cloud Run in us-central1 (Iowa, United States). Cloud Run operational request logs are retained in the project’s default log bucket for 30 days and may include IP addresses, request URLs, timestamps, response status and timing. Avoid putting sensitive information in page URLs. Application access logging is disabled and document bodies are not logged. Google may retain separate security, administrative and billing records under its own policies.
Important practical limits
Temporary-file cleanup is not a promise of forensic secure erasure. An abrupt machine failure can prevent normal cleanup. The service is not a malware scanner, and a preflight report does not establish that a document is safe to open elsewhere.
Only upload documents you are authorized to send to the server. Do not upload files that must remain on your device.
